UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad extended his winning medal to seven on Saturday
As he targeted Vicente Luque in the same category at the UFC Fight Night at the Apex venue in Las Vegas.
The judges awarded Muhammad (21-3) victory in the 170-pound battle with 49-46, 49-46 and 49-47 points.
Luque (21-8-1) entered the favorite betting competition but struggled to keep the case going against Muhammad
Who defeated Luque in the first round and caught it late in the battle.
According to the UFC Stats, Muhammad scored a total of 164 to 109 goals and made it 7:29 in control over Luque's 33 seconds.
Saturday’s big event was a repeat of the welterweight fight between the two at UFC 206 in November 2016.
Luque won that fight by knockout in the first round at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Muhammad, 33, has improved his record to 7-0 in his last eight games except for one competition against Leon Edwards in March 2021 due to an eye injury.
Edward is expected to face champion Kamaru Usman defending the UFC welterweight title this summer.
Luque saw his victory in four consecutive battles.
